Organic lip balm business wins on the global cosmetic stage
Yes Organics took out gold and silver or the Best Lip Balm Category at the 2022 Asia Global Makeup Awards.
A small local lip balm company is taking the world cosmetics stage by storm.
Yes Organics took out gold and silver for the Best Lip Balm Category at the 2022 Asia Global Makeup Awards.
Its Lemon and Lime Lip Balm won gold, while its Rosehip & Camellia Lip Balm was awarded silver.
Yes Organics founder Preeti Narayan said since 2019 the brand had won 39 international awards for its lip balms.
Coming to New Zealand from a warm country, she experienced chapped lips quite often in the colder climate and especially winter.
She used a number of products but could not find a good lip balm. When she head a friend had a hard time with constant cold sore outbreaks, she set out to create her own lip balm.
Narayan said her first lip balms, targeted at moisturising and cold sores, were based on research and scientifically proven ingredients.
She said she created formulations that she trialled and perfected over the years.
Initially she sold them at local markets around Auckland, but were now stocked by retailers throughout New Zealand, including the Chuan Spa by Langham Hotel & Resorts.
“Right from the beginning our ethos has been to formulate using premium 100% natural and organic ingredients and to apply a holistic approach, where each ingredient has been carefully assessed for its benefits and only the best that work synergistically have been selected,” she said.
